I’m back with another super easy and absolutely wonderful DIY skincare product: milk and honey bath melts. If you love soaking in the bathtub after a long day, why not drop in something that will leave your skin super soft?
These bath melts are so easy to make and only require a few ingredients. Make sure to do a patch test first to ensure you aren’t allergic to any of them.
This DIY bath melts recipe requires so little effort, and I think once you make them, you’ll end up making more and maybe even gifting them!
What you need to make milk and honey bath melts
4 ingredients, that’s it, that’s all. Does it get any easier than this? Probably not!
- â…“ cup shea butter
- â…“ cup sweet almond oil
- ½ cup powdered milk, plus an additional ¼ cup for rolling
- ¼ cup honey powder
- Cylinder silicone mold

How to make bath melts
Here are the simple instructions on how to make bath melts. This recipe yields 10.
- Add the shea butter and sweet almond oil to a heat-safe bowl or measuring cup, and heat on high for 1 minute. Remove and stir well to finish melting the shea butter. If needed, heat for an additional 30 seconds.
- Add the powdered milk and honey powder and stir to combine.
- Spoon the mixture into the mold cavities. You will end up filling 10 of them.
- Allow to air dry for 24 hours to solidify.
- Remove from the mold, then roll in powdered milk.
- Store in an airtight container.
So now that we have all the ingredients, the recipe, and our newly formed bath melts, how the heck do you use them?
How to use bath melts
You simply drop these wonderful little jewels in the tub and enjoy the benefits and fragrance. You can rinse off in the shower afterward if you wish but in order to get the full benefit of the butter and oil, I wouldn’t.
Simply towel dry after your bath and enjoy your newly fresh and soft skin!

Variations and Suggestions
To enhance your bath experience, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to your bath after you place the bath melt in the bathtub, OR you can add a couple of drops in the ingredients to make essential oil bath melts.
Here are a few oils you might want to add:
- Lavender
- Frankincense
- Rose
- Eucalyptus
Also, if you don’t want to use sweet almond oil, you can substitute it for any other carrier oil, such as:
- Jojoba
- Avocado
- Olive
- Walnut
- Pecan
