Though considering the style and design of the clothes you choose to wear is important, color is an equally relevant factor. Being aware of your most flattering colors to wear is essential to putting together a great outfit.

It’s also important to note that colors play a huge role in our emotions and our well-being. I will drop a link to a color wheel of emotions at the bottom of this article. It’s quite interesting!

Wearing your best colors will make you look fresh and vibrant, and others will also be quick to notice and compliment you. In fact, you may also be more self-confident and cheerful, even without realizing it.

The following tips will guide you in finding the most flattering colors to wear.

Be Objective About the Colors You Try On

The first and most important tip is, to be honest with yourself. No matter how beautiful a certain color looks, if you want to look great, it has to be flattering on you. Always step back and take an objective look at the clothes you want to buy. Regardless of how attractive a color might seem to you by itself, if it doesn’t suit you, you won’t look good wearing it, and it won’t be worth it. There’s a vast selection of colors to choose from, so you should never have to settle for something unflattering, quite the contrary!

Wearing different colors to help lift your emotional mood is called color therapy, and it may work for you. For some, it may seem like an impractical idea; however, it has helped many; one will never know if something works until they try it. When we look around, we see color all around us, and it affects us unconsciously, so using color therapy will help you feel better.

We have seven different chakras in our body; these relate to the colors in the rainbow. By using these colors to wear when one has a problem, they can help one to feel better.

Violet

In the color spectrum, violet is placed at the top. This color should be worn when one is feeling stressed or has insomnia. Violet relates to self-knowledge/spiritual awareness. It is the union with your higher self, spirituality, and your higher consciousness.

Indigo

This color should be worn when one wants to be more aware of their surroundings and what is happening in their life; it will allow one to be more perceptive of the ambiance around them. However, wearing it will also make one prone to depression and unreasonable.

Blue

This is a great color to wear when you need to express yourself, for those speeches, class discussions, or truths. Blue relates to self-expression. Speech, communication, the ability to communicate our needs and requirements. Spirit of truth and purpose.

Green

This color should be worn for when you want to love and be loved. When balanced, we are able to give this love and also to love and nurture ourselves.

Yellow

This color should be worn when you need a confidence boost or to feel that you are worth something and how that others see us. This is the area of the personality, the ego, and the intellect and of self-confidence.

Orange

In addition, orange is a wonderful color to wear when you are feeling low on confidence; it is a color of respect, not only for ourselves but for others around us as well. It is a great color to feel good about yourself. Also, orange is the color of creativity, and we should give ourselves the space to have creative time just for us.

This color is a great color for when one wants to feel strength and not to feel insignificant being on Earth but feel aware of that fact. Wear it on those days that you have to do something that you wouldn’t normally do or when you want to succeed. ‘On the psycho-spiritual level, this chakra relates to self-awareness.

Hopefully, wearing these colors will help you emotionally feel better. Not many have heard of the benefits or what color therapy is, so many individuals may not have tried it. Nevertheless, color therapy is a therapy that everyone should try.
