Hello, my name is Iva, and I’m vain af.
There. I said it.
While I don’t particularly mind aging, I really mind the fact that my face is falling and wrinkly and aging and and and… 😭
I’m sad about it. I’m also sad about the ridiculous stuff that’s going on with my body, but that’s a whole other story.
Mebbe 🤔
So, ICYMI, I turned 60 a couple of years ago. It was exciting and depressing, but most of all, I’m just happy to still be alive and really healthy! I quit smoking almost 2 years ago at 58 years old (it’s never too late btw) and I feel like a million bucks.
Sometimes.
46 years of smoking has definitely taken its toll on me. All of me. Face included.
It is what it is. I’m actually really surprised I still have really nice white teeth 😁 < see?
Anywho….
Let’s get back to my falling face. I’ll be honest. It makes me sad to see my face grow old. I mean, I know I’m not gonna stay young and youthful till I die, but man… this face part sucks.
So, I did something about it. I did what any woman over 50 would do about a falling face.
I bought invisible facelift tape.
I did research first
I certainly did take some time to check out different styles and brands, read reviews, and examine before and afters with a magnifying glass. You name it, I did it. I wasn’t just gonna throw my money at any face tape ad.
No, not this girl. I researched the hell out of it first.
Another thing to mention here is the fact I live in Guatemala, and we don’t have Amazon here. We do, however, have another distributing site similar to Amazon but hella expensive so because I wasn’t going to spend stupid money on this item (because buying this item wasn’t stupid enough in its own) I went with a slightly more economical brand that still had decent reviews.
I think.
One thing all these advertisements had in common was that they used 25-year-old women for most of the before and afters. I don’t get it.
Are they trying to look 12? Well, that’s creepy. Anyway I did find a few women around my age with pretty decent results.
I went ahead and ordered the $40 one (that’s CDN, by the way).

Trying Invisible face lift tape
Before I share my results, there are a few things that you need to know first:
- This is invisible tape
- My skin is olive/dark
- My skin is sagging a lot!
So let me try to describe this to you as best I can. Use your imagination. I’m not posting pics.
Did I mention it’s supposed to be invisible tape?
It’s like a tiny bandaid. It’s got 2 sides you need to peel off. Peel off one side, stick it to the part of your face that needs a miracle, then peel off the other side. Now, when you peel off the other side, you pull the tape as much as you need to lift your saggy face and then stick the other side to your face when you find the best look.
Are you following me? Seriously, if that’s too confusing, just Google it, and you’ll see.
So, you basically want this done as close to your hairline as possible. I mean. You’re giving yourself a facelift with tape.
Now, while this sounds fairly simple, and it kinda is, this is where it gets a little weird.
Where does that excess skin go? You know. The skin you just lifted? What about the sagging, flappy extra skin? Does it just disappear with the invisible tape?
Well no. Oh, you’re gonna love this.
It literally creates a butt crack on your face. I’m not even kidding. Use your imagination again. Actually, just try it and look in the mirror. Use clear packing tape. I’ll wait.
Anyway, I decided that if I just wear my hair down and around my face, you won’t be able to really notice the extra butt crack I have.
But here’s the kicker.
They say you can apply makeup (foundation) right over top of it and no one will notice.
Well. That’s a flat-out lie. I mean, if you’re blind, sure, you won’t notice a thing.
So this is how that all went down
I applied 4 pieces of so-called invisible face-lifting tape in total. If you ignore my face butt crack, it looks ok. Now, I want to apply makeup and review the final finished product.
I squirted some foundation in a makeup sponge and gently dabbed it on the area where the tape was.
The final result?
The invisible face-lifting tape, now full on, looks like a tiny bandaid CLEARLY visible on my face with my new face butt crack peeking out of the sides.
Are you getting the visual? If you’re imagining something completely ridiculous, you’re not wrong.
After adjusting and reapplying I concluded these are a total bust. Trying to take them off was a feat all on its own. Thank God for that tiny butt crack. I was able to stick my finger in that small space and peel the tape off from there!
I now have small patches on my face where there is no hair, no butt crack, and still sagging skin.
Ah well.
In summary
Save your money and embrace your aging face. Or try a more expensive brand and don’t be cheap like Iva.
I appreciate that someone took the time to invent these things for aging women, but they could have thought it through a little more before actually putting it on the market. Maybe stick it on a 60-year-old woman first to see if it works? Maybe don’t use 25 year old models?
I’m not done with them yet. There’s gotta be a way to make these things work and look good, and I have about 54 more pieces left to practice with.
Wish me luck!
